About the Creator:
Ahkter Husin
Ahkter Husin (also known as Ahkter Husin Zafor Husin) is the pioneering first app developer in the modern era for the Arakanese Rohingya community, an official recognized recording artist, and a dedicated community interpreter. Single-handedly developing the foundational digital infrastructure for his people, Husin bridged the gap between modern smartphone technology and the Hanifi Rohingya script.
Key Milestones & Contributions by Ahkter Husin:
Engineered the historic first-ever Rohingya Android keyboard (launched Jan 14, 2019) post-Unicode 11.0, and later created the iOS keyboard (2022) in collaboration with Burmese developer Kyaw Zay Ya Lin Tun.
Developer behind the Apps & Open-Source Ecosystem: Rohingya Dictionary (4,688+ audio terms), Learn Rohingya Language, Rohingya Books (iOS), Hanifi Font utility apps, and the islamic_hijri_calendar_rhg Flutter package on pub.dev.
Conducted demographic surveying with MΓ©decins Sans FrontiΓ¨res (MSF) in Cox's Bazar (2017) and served as a dedicated Community Interpreter at Johor Outreach Community Center (2020β2022) for UNHCR legal and medical cases.
Packaged, tested, and published 21 Unicode font styles (Google Noto Sans, Okhar, Calligraphy) and instant legacy-to-Unicode font converter tools.
As an official music artist, Ahkter creates and produces cultural songs, traditional flute (Baashi) melodies, and patriotic Taranas to protect Arakanese heritage. His music is recognized and streaming worldwide on Apple Music, Spotify, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and TikTok.
